UN Work

Jan is a keen lobbyist at the United Nations in Geneva. He has successfully lobbied various UN Committees to address Delegations from a number of countries regarding issues ranging from Asylum & Immigration Policy, Human Rights, Social Minorities, Health and Children (both Refugee and non-Refugee Children).

His recommendations are often included in the UN Committee’s Concluding Observations, which then oblige the relevant Delegation to respond and implement these recommendations by the next Committee Meeting. Some of Jan’s successes are:

UN Committee Meeting on Economic, Social & Cultural Rights, Geneva 2009

(UK & Russia)

  • The Right to Health
  • Asylum Seekers’ Right to Work
  • Non-Discrimination for the Change in Age for Spouses
  • Internal Displacement & Vulnerable Minorities
  • Refugee Issues

  • Refugee & Asylum-Seeking Children Issues
